Title: Thank you VisualModder, for teaching us how to code!
From: –
I just wanted to thank you guys for such an amazing platform. My son, Dominic (10yrs), has been wanting to learn coding for a while now, and as a parent with no real coding experience, I had no idea where to start. When I found VisualModder, I was skeptical at first, but since my son was already hooked on the game and the platform was free, I decided to give it a try. Now I can honestly say it’s been such a game-changer.
Dominic absolutely loves Minecraft and spends hours playing and alking about the game, and when I saw that VisualModder teaches coding through Minecraft, I thought, “This might just be the perfect fit.” It’s easy to use and my son already plays with the Java version of Minecraft. No typing out code with weird syntax, just drag-and-drop blocks, and things happen in the Minecraft world right in the game. That instant feedback is what kept him hooked from the very start.
The first project we did was simple, connecting to the Minecraft server and creating a tower. Dominic was immediately excited when he saw the tower pop up in the game. It made us realize that coding wasn’t this impossible, technical thing, but something fun and creative.
I thought we’d be alone on the server, but I was pleasantly surprised to see other kids there. It was so fun and motivating to connect with them, see what they were building, and share ideas. It sparked new inspiration for Dominic and pushed him to try even more creative projects.
As we moved along, things got more interesting. Dominic learned about loops, making things repeat automatically, which led to building projects like an aquarium and a birthday cake in Minecraft. Watching him figure out how to combine different blocks to make more complex things was incredible. He even made a chessboard and started using letters to build cool stuff.
One of our favorite parts was learning how to move things around in Minecraft. He made a smiley face, built a tower in the shape of an arrow, and even created a flower thrower that scattered flowers all over the place. And when we started playing with rotation and tilting, he was having a blast, making things spin and turn in all kinds of directions.
Later on, when we got into more advanced stuff like functions and variables, I was amazed at how quickly Dominic picked it up. He created a house with a variable size and material, which was super cool because it meant the program changed every time he ran it. And when we got into random numbers and building complex shapes, Dominic’s creativity just took off. He made a zoo, a maze, and even a mushroom shaped house!
There were times when we had to practically force Dominic to stop and go to bed! He got so absorbed in his projects, building and experimenting, that he’d lose track of time. It was hard to get him to stop sometimes because he was just so into it. But it was great to see him so passionate, though!
I’m really grateful for how VisualModder made all of this possible. It’s not just a platform to learn coding. It’s a place where my kid could play, experiment, and learn by doing. The best part is that Dominic has so much fun that he doesn’t even realize he’s learning. It’s hands-on, immediate, and most importantly, it kept him engaged the whole time.
Now, he’s even talking about learning more coding languages like Python, and I truly believe that it’s all thanks to how you guys turned coding into an exciting game. I can’t thank you enough for giving us such a great experience.
Keep up the great work!
A grateful parent
